Lox & Loaded: Our Story

Who We Are

Lox & Loaded is a Jewish-owned and operated shooting club dedicated to building confidence, fostering firearm safety, and standing united because community defense begins with community strength. We are a diverse group of individuals, parents, students, working professionals, and community members, united by the belief that personal safety is a right and a responsibility. We aim to foster competence, preparedness, and connection among individuals who share a commitment to protecting their families, faith, and community.

Why We Started Lox & Loaded

Over recent years, antisemitism in the United States has grown at an alarming rate. Harassment, vandalism, threats, physical assaults, and other incidents targeting Jewish people, synagogues, and Jewish organizations have increased, making many in our community feel unsafe. Here are some facts:

  • In 2023, there were 8,873 antisemitic incidents (including harassment, vandalism, assault) reported in the U.S., a ~140 percent increase over 2022. Axios

  • In 2024, the total number of antisemitic incidents in the U.S. rose to 9,354, up about 5 percent from 2023. Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • Physical assaults, one of the most serious forms of antisemitism, saw a ~21 percent increase year-over-year. Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  • On college campuses, antisemitic incidents in the 2024-2025 academic year reached a record high. Hillel International tracked 2,334 incidents during that period. That is the most ever since they began tracking in 2019. Hillel International

These are not just numbers. They represent real fear. Real danger. Real incidents where Jewish individuals, synagogues, and community institutions were targeted. Out of this growing threat came the conviction that waiting for “someone else” to secure safety is not acceptable. We wanted a place where Jewish people and our allies could learn, train, and prepare proactively, not in reaction, but ahead of time.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is twofold:

  1. Empower individuals with the knowledge and skill to safely handle firearms, to defend themselves and their community if needed. This means comprehensive safety training, regular practice, and responsible ownership.

  2. Strengthen community resilience by building connections among people who share a commitment to safety, responsibility, and mutual support. We aim to reduce fear through preparation, education, and a shared sense of agency.

Our Mission

We have a clear mission:

  • To provide high-quality, accessible training in firearm safety and use

  • To foster readiness and confidence in our members so that they can protect themselves, their families, and their community

  • To build a community grounded in trust, learning, respect, and responsibility

We believe that when more people are trained, alert, and prepared, we are all safer. When we stand together, we are stronger.

Why Preparedness Matters Now

Given the recent statistics we shared, complacency is not an option. The threats are increasing. Jewish people are being targeted with growing frequency in both overt and covert ways. The escalation is happening not just online or through words, but through actions.

Preparedness does not mean living in fear. It means living with awareness, agency, and responsibility. It means making sure that if the unthinkable happens, we are ready. Not helpless.

At Lox & Loaded, we do this work not because we want to train people to live in fear, but because we want to train people to live free, secure, and with dignity.

From the Lox & Loaded family, thank you for being here. Thank you for caring. Whether you are just learning or already experienced, you are part of something important. Together, we build safety, and together, we build strength.
